Problem is it was an immature method of storytelling. Much like some dime novel.

Book Rating:8.7 Characters: Ruby, Between the Cracks (Between The Cracks Book 1) First published: February 22nd 2014Rating: 8.44 stars GoodReads:Ruby, Between the Cracks Review: I usually don’t post reviews but I was disappointed in this book. I only made it half way thru it before I quit. I found it dragged on and the main character seemed to find herself in every conceivable problem that you can think of. I’m sorry if my review upsets anyone just trying to be honest. Author: First Book Publish:2014 Books in series: 1 Avg. Book Rating:8.8 Characters: The Waiting (The Waiting #1) (Counterplay Book 1) First published: August 11th 2014Rating: 8.76 stars GoodReads:The Waiting (The Waiting #1) Review: The beginning of this book was a bit tough to get into because there was a huge character dump…I felt myself saying “wait who is that?” For quite a while in the beginning. There is an appendix of characters but I don’t usually connect with characters that way, feels a bit forced. Throughout this book I was disgusted by the actions of the characters though I still didn’t want to put it down. Some of this story is probably reality for some so it was believable. sometimes they got what was coming

I requested the book for two reasons. The first being that futuristic dystopian literature is still such a hot area for young adult fiction. I like to explore authors’ different takes on the prevalent theme. However, the bigger draw for me was the author herself, Marissa Shrock. She is a middle school language arts teacher, as I was once, publishing her first novel. So my assumption was that she would hav The Liberation (Emancipation Warriors Book 2) (Emancipation Warriors Book 2) First published: February 20th 2016Rating: 9.04 stars GoodReads:The Liberation (Emancipation Warriors Book 2) Review: In this sequel to The First Principle, Marissa Shrock writes one of the best Christian speculative novels I’ve read in a long time.

I could not put this book down. It reminded me of The Dresden Files a bit and I look forward to the next book if there is one.
