Book Rating:7.5 Characters: Vittoria Vetra, Robert Langdon, Maxmillan Kohler, Leonardo Vetra, Gunther Glick, Sophie Neveu, Katherine Solomon, Peter Solomon, Sienna Brooks Angels & Demons (Robert Langdon Book 1) First published: July 2nd 2001Rating: 7.62 stars GoodReads:Angels & Demons Review: tIf you enjoy suspense and mystery novels like myself, Angels and Demons is a great novel. Dan Brown combines religion and science to create a rather controversial read. The story starts out by introducing us to Robert Langdon by awakening him with a phone call. Maximillian Kohler summons him to the science base, CERN, for his expertise of symbolism following the murder of their top researcher. He was branded with the mark of the Illuminati, an anti-religious cult that was believed to have died out years ago. So why kill a man of science? His research had proved the existence of God’s force, in creating dark matter. His murderer gruesomely accessed his work and stole away to Vatican City. Soon after a terrorist threat was made, with no demands, and four of the preferiti were kidnapped. The preferiti were the preferred elects for the pope election. Meanwhile, the chamberlain has to…

I listened to this book on CD in the car.Issue 1 — Narrator. I’ve listened to 2 Spenser books narrated by Joe Mantegna and I absolutely love Joe as Spenser. Small Vices was read by Burt Reynolds. Burt has a beautiful, deep, rich, smooth voice…but he’s not Joe and therefore not Spencer. And it seems that his deep melted chocolate range is where I have hearing loss. There were parts that sounded like a bass melody with no words. When his voice…

Author:Paul Auster, Luc Sante, Art Spiegelman First Book Publish:1986 Books in series: 3 Avg. Book Rating:7.8 Characters: The New York Trilogy (New York Trilogy Book 1) First published: April 6th 1987Rating: 7.86 stars GoodReads:The New York Trilogy Review: For me, this was a problematic book, fraught with numerous problemats. For one thing I have a grievance with any book that expects the reader to slog halfway through it before any rewarding aspects begin to surface. I sympathize entirely with anyone who quits before getting to that point, since I very nearly did exactly that. Also, I kept hearing that part I, “City of Glass”, was the high point, and that afterward it went downhill. When I was halfway through “Ghosts” (part II) I would have completely agreed with that sentiment, since I thought “City of Glass” was kind of a drag with some highlights, and “Ghosts” initially did everything in its power to make me want to set the book on fire and drop it into a chasm. But whoever was saying that either did quit halfway through, or is just plain wrong. The Trilogy improves so dramatically in part III that it might as well be a different book, even as…

Author:John Banville First Book Publish:1994 Books in series: 3 Avg. Book Rating:7.5 Characters: The Book of Evidence (The Freddie Montgomery Trilogy Book 1) First published: June 11th 2001Rating: 7.56 stars GoodReads:The Book of Evidence Review: Banville es un estilista desde la médula del lenguaje. Athena (The Freddie Montgomery Trilogy Book 2) First published: May 27th 1996Rating: 7.3 stars GoodReads:Athena Review: Unorganized thoughts:- I really enjoyed this. I almost want to give it five stars, but I feel like I should save those for the best of the best, and this lacked that little something to push it over the top. It’s fantastic, though, and I’m really in…
